Two years before the current storyline, eleven Super Rookies arrived at Sabaody Archipelago almost simultaneously. Collectively, they are known as the “Eleven Supernovas“. These eleven, alongside Blackbeard, were considered to be the Worst Generation to ever come to existence, due to their individual actions bringing great (or terrible) changes to the world, leaving deep and lasting impacts.
They are obviously all very powerful individuals, let’s see who they are:
#12 – Jewelry Bonney
Jewelry Bonney is the captain of the Bonney Pirates and prior to the two-year timeskip had a bounty of 140,000,000 Berries. Bonney exhibits unexplained abilities that appear to come from a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that involves age manipulation. She can alter the ages of herself and others, rapidly aging her intended targets into their senior years or regressing them into small children. As a result of this ability, accurately determining her true age is difficult.
#11 – Killer
“Massacre Soldier” Killer is a member of the Kid Pirates. His style of fighting seems to rely mainly on agility and speed, which he uses to overpower his opponent before they can strike him, or to dodge attacks. He was capable of fighting head on with the fellow Supernova Urouge, though the latter had not increased his muscle mass. Killer is seen using a pair of scythe-bladed weapons attached to his armbands that are capable of spinning around or being used as hand scythes. This, combined with the agility he has so far displayed in combat and the notion that he is not afraid to kill, makes him a formidable foe. After the timeskip, his bounty has been raised from 162,000,000 to 200,000,000 Berries.
#10 – Scratchmen Apoo
Scratchmen Apoo is a longarm and an infamous music-themed pirate and captain of the On Air Pirates. Scratchmen Apoo is a martial artist of sorts. His fighting stance generally consists of him waving his hands in front of him like a DJ. He appears to have a Devil Fruit connected with music. This ability, which he refers to as Tatakau Music allows him to transform his body into various musical instruments (such as piano keys on his teeth or turning his arm into a saxophone) which he can play. By playing specific notes and tunes, he can release music that causes damaging effects to his opponents, the type of damage being determined by what he plays, and seems to have hypnotic effects. Apoo can turn into instruments in seconds. After the timeskip, his bounty has been raised from 198,000,000 to 350,000,000 Berries.
#9 – Capone “Gang” Bege
Capone Bege, is the captain of the Fire Tank Pirates. Sometime during the timeskip, his bounty increased from 138,000,000 to 300,000,000 Berries. He ate the Shiro Shiro no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit which allows him to create and maintain a dimensional fortress inside his body. He can house a massive force of subordinates within his body, as well as horses and cannons. He manifests these objects outside his body by first manifesting ports and drawbridges on his person through which his “troops” could come out. He can also transform into a gigantic fortress shaped golem with immense defensive power.
#8 – Basil Hawkins
Basil Hawkins known as the “Magician” is the captain of the Hawkins Pirates and. His previous known bounty amounted to 249,000,000 Berries, but after the timeskip it was raised to 320,000,000 Berries. After encountering Kaido, he joined the Beasts Pirates and became one of the crew’s Headliners.
Hawkins ate the Wara Wara no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that enables him to redirect any instances of physical damage inflicted upon him to another person using straw voodoo dolls, leaving him unharmed but forcing his victim to take damage amounting to what he would have. The Devil Fruit also enables him to transform into a giant scarecrow-like entity, resembling a giant voodoo doll, with metal nails functioning as claws/fingernails.
Hawkins has great skill in swordsmanship supplemented with his Devil Fruit powers. He wields a sword created out of the straws produced by his power, allowing him to form a flexible yet sharp whip-like single-edged blade.
#7 – Roronoa Zoro
Zoro is an extremely powerful master swordsman, being able to use one, two, and three swords in varying attack styles. He has immense superhuman physical prowess, particularly his strength and agility. He is generally considered to be above his peer and rival Vinsmoke Sanji, but just below the Straw Hat captain, Luffy.
To match his incredible strength, Zoro also has an immense tolerance to pain and astonishing amounts of stamina and endurance, evidenced by numerous situations he has thus far endured (Dracule Mihawk’s black sword slashing his chest, Kuma’s explosive Ursus Shock attack, etc..).
Zoro has extraordinary mastery of Busoshoku Haki. He is also very skilled in the use of Kenbunshoku Haki. He currently has a bounty of 320,000,000 Berries.
#6 – X Drake
X Drake is is the son of the Marine-turned-pirate Diez Barrel. Currently, he and his crew are affiliated with the Beasts Pirates. Pior to the two-year timeskip he had a bounty of 222,000,000 Berries.
X Drake possesses the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Allosaurus, an Ancient Zoan-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to transform into an allosaurus hybrid and a full allosaurus at will.
The major strength of Drake’s fruit is that it allows him to turn into an allosaurus, a large and powerful predator from the prehistoric era. This makes this fruit well-suited for combat purposes, since carnivorous Zoans are said to be fiercer fighters than non-carnivorous ones. While in full allosaurus form, he acquires a strong biting ability that can even damage the heavy armor of the aforementioned Pacifistas, which are said to be stronger than steel.
Drake has also shown that he is capable of using Busoshoku Haki when he easily defeated Caribou, a Logia user.
#5 – Urouge
Urouge, also known as Mad Monk is a pirate from a sky island and is the captain of the Fallen Monk Pirates. Prior to the two-year timeskip he had a bounty of 108,000,000 Berries. Urouge was strong enough to defeat one of Big Mom’s Four Sweet Commanders, who are second only to her in strength and authority amongst the elite pirate crew, although he was later defeated by another one of her Commanders, Charlotte Cracker. However despite his defeat, Urouge managed to survive and retreat. Urouge ate a Devil Fruit that allows him to convert damage inflicted onto him into strength, to the point of increasing his muscle and body size. Using this ability he was able to exceed a Pacifista’s body size and actually damage its body with punches, although he was still vulnerable to their lasers.
#4 – Trafalgar D. Water Law
Trafalgar Law is the captain and doctor of the Heart Pirates. After he was expelled from the Shichibukai, Law’s bounty was raised to 500,000,000 Berries. Law is the user of a Devil Fruit called the Ope Ope no Mi, which allows him to create a spherical territory of light blue aura. In this territory, he is capable of separating and spatially displacing anything and everything inside (including himself), referred to as that he can “operate” on anything within the spherical “operating room”. Easily among the most versatile Devil Fruits around, with his powers, Law is capable of causing mass havoc within the area he controls. Law appears to have mastered his power to such a great extent, that he can even cut through someone who completely imbued their body in Busoshoku Haki.
Ope Ope no Mi has been called the “Ultimate Devil Fruit”. Infact it has the unique power to grant another person eternal youth in exchange for the current user’s life.
Law has also shown great proficiency in Busoshoku Haki.
#3 – Eustass Kid
Eustass Kid is the captain of the Kid Pirates. Sometime during the timeskip, his bounty was raised from 315,000,000 to 470,000,000 Berries. He possesses a Devil Fruit power connected to magnetism. This manifests in two different abilities, both depicting repulsion and attraction of metals within his vicinity to be used as weapons. The first allows him to repel metallic objects away from himself, such as reflecting a Marine cannonball back towards its shooter. The second ability allows him to draw metallic objects towards him and form them into objects, his most frequent use of this being to form a giant arm made of hundreds of metallic weapons and objects and connecting it to his right hand. When forming this metallic arm, he can use it to punch his opponents, or as a makeshift shield to block even a Pacifista’s laser beams. It is unknown if the firearms connected to his metal arm can fire at his will or not.

#2 – Monkey D. Luffy
Luffy is the son of the Revolutionary leader Monkey D. Dragon, the grandson of the Marine hero Monkey D. Garp and the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates. He currently has a bounty of 1,500,000,000 Berries.
After consuming the Gomu Gomu no Mi, Luffy’s body became like rubber, giving him the ability to stretch and attack long distances. Having undergone intense training for over ten years, Luffy is now able to supplement his stretching powers with immense strength, agility, and creativity in combat.
He has also developed several peculiar methods of combat as time passed, adapting new forms by manipulating his elastic body(Gear 2 and Gear 3) and using Haki in conjunction with the fruit’s powers (Gear 4).
Luffy is able to use Haoshoku Haki, a type of Haki possessed only by one in a million people. Luffy used this ability several times in the series, as it was the type of Haki that manifested the earliest.
Since training with Silvers Rayleigh, he have gained incredible proficiency in Kenbunshoku Haki, allowing him to tell what an opponent intends to do. After pushing his Kenbunshoku Haki to its peak during his fight against Katakuri, Luffy gained the ability to see into the future to a limited extent. Katakuri himself even noticed that Luffy’s level of Kenbunshoku Haki was reaching his own.
Luffy has also gained an extremely high mastery of Busoshoku Haki, which has been shown to darken his body (or parts of it) and harden it.
#1 – Marshall D. Teach
Marshall D. Teach, also known as Blackbeard, is an immensely powerful pirate even for a (former) member of the Whitebeard Pirates and Shichibukai. The most prominent feats of Teach’s power was defeating three commanders of the Whitebeard Pirates: Portgas D. Ace, Thatch, and later during the Payback War, Marco, the new Captain of the Whitebeard Pirates.
Teach possesses tremendous physical strength and superhuman endurance.
Blackbeard has become the first and, so far, only user to wield the powers of two Devil Fruits at the same time. With the power of darkness (Yami Yami no Mi), which “reduces anything to nothingness”, and the power of quakes (Gura Gura no Mi), which “brings destruction to everything”, Blackbeard claims himself to be truly invincible and the strongest of them all.
Blackbeard possesses the ability to use Busoshoku Haki and Kenbunshoku Haki.
