The Kozuki Family is a powerful family of daimyo residing in Kuri in Wano Country. They once ruled Wano Country over 20 years ago.
The Kozuki Family was a clan of master craftsmen, specializing in stonemasonry. The earliest known ancestors created the Poneglyphs during the end of the Void Century.
Confirmed members of this family are:
1-Kozuki Sukiyaki
Kozuki Sukiyaki was the former Shogun of Wano Country and the father of the daimyo of Kuri Kozuki Oden.
Sukiyaki ruled over Wano Country as its Shogun over 20 years ago. However, Sukiyaki was replaced by Kurozumi Orochi, and since Kyoshiro believed every member of the Kozuki Family was killed after the attack on Oden’s wife and children, Sukiyaki is presumably deceased.
As a member of the Kozuki Family, Sukiyaki knew how to read the Poneglyphs, which he passed on to Oden.
2-Kozuki Oden
Kozuki Oden was the daimyo of Kuri in Wano Country, the son of the former Shogun of Wano Country Kozuki Sukiyaki, the husband of Kozuki Toki, and the father of Kozuki Momonosuke and Kozuki Hiyori. He was the patriarch of the Kozuki Family 20 years ago until he was executed by Kurozumi Orochi. He was also a member of the Roger Pirates.
In his early years, he was said to get into violent fights, which was the reason for his exile from the Flower Capital. However, he was a man of great compassion, as he defended Nekomamushi and Inuarashi from discrimination in Wano and also reformed the criminals of Kuri into becoming law biding citizens. Even Gol D. Roger and Whitebeard held incredible respect for him.
Oden was an extremely powerful samurai, as according to Kin’emon, Oden singlehandedly defeated Ashura Doji, the most dangerous criminal of that time and restored order to the extremely chaotic land of Kuri, which was rampant with dangerous criminals and outlaws of Wano.
As a descendant of the Kozuki Family, Oden inherited from his ancestors the knowledge and skill to read Poneglyphs and write its ancient language. He also had the ability to hear the “Voice of All Things”
Oden was very adventurous, and felt confined by Wano’s closed borders. He left Wano despite that being a crime, and his biggest wish was to open the country’s borders.
3-Kozuki Toki
Kozuki Toki was the wife of the daimyo of Kuri, Kozuki Oden and the matriarch of the Kozuki Family. She was killed by Kaido 20 years ago.
Toki ate the Toki Toki no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that enabled her to send herself and others forward in time.
Toki was rumored to have been born in the distant past, but after consuming the Toki Toki no Mi, she traveled forward in time multiple times. She eventually met and married Kozuki Oden, the daimyo of Kuri, and gave birth to a son, Momonosuke, followed by a daughter, Hiyori.
The greatest strength of the Toki Toki no Mi devil fruit is the user’s ability to transport out of dangerous situations by moving into the future, as shown when Toki transported her son and retainers to help them escape from the burning Oden Castle.
It is impossible to travel into the past, meaning that all trips forward in time are irreversible.
4-Kozuki Momonosuke
Kozuki Momonosuke is an inhabitant of Wano Country and the son of the late daimyo of the Kuri region and patriarch of the Kozuki Family, Kozuki Oden.
He was born 28 years before the present day, but traveled 20 years forward in time when he was 8 years old.
Momonosuke ate Vegapunk’s man-made Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit that was considered a failure. It transformed him into a serpentine dragon which allows him to seemingly fly, when in actuality he somehow produced clouds that he was able to grab onto and climbed up that way.
Momonosuke has the ability to communicate with the giant elephant Zunisha, being capable of seeing through its eyes and giving it orders, which is the only way it can do anything but walk. Should Momonosuke order it to attack, he is in command of a powerful weapon capable of wiping out fleets in a single blow.
Like his father, Momonosuke also has the ability to hear the “Voice of All Things”.
5-Kozuki Hiyori
Kozuki Hiyori is the daughter of Kozuki Oden and his wife Toki and the younger sister of Momonosuke.
20 years before the present day, Hiyori’s father Oden was brought to the Flower Capital and executed by the shogun Kurozumi Orochi. Hiyori was in Oden Castle with her mother Toki and brother Momonosuke when Kaido, who was working with Orochi, set it ablaze. Toki used her Devil Fruit powers to send Momonosuke and her retainers 20 years forward in time. However, Hiyori did not travel with them and her current fate remains unknown.
The crest of the Kozuki Family depicts a crane-like bird with a glowing orb in its chest and spread wings. Around the bird figure, there is a circle with four sprout-like symbols coming from it at each ordinal direction.
Retainers of the Kozuki Family have this crest tattooed in their bodies in order to allow recognition.
The crest can also be found in locations affiliated with the family. Those loyal to the family, even after Kurozumi Orochi’s slanders, have a crescent moon tattooed on their ankles to mark their loyalty yet remain hidden in Wano.
