Luffy’s group has recently arrived at Wano. Luffy wakes up on a beach and encounters a komainu and a huge baboon with a katana, which leads him to confirm that this is indeed Wano Country.
Two Beasts Pirates scouts arrive to take out Luffy, but Luffy dispatches them, freeing their prisoner O-Tama. Because of this, she has immense gratitude and refers to Luffy with a “big brother” honorific. She even went as far as to give him the rice she was meant to have, even though it is the most she eats all year.
Back at the beach, the Beast Pirates have confirmed that a group of people had arrived in Wano as they ask Headliner what to do, revealing him to be Basil Hawkins. Hawkins says that they should not report to Kaido yet, as he will go and handle matters himself.
What is Hawkins’ plan? While Eustass Kid was badly beaten and imprisoned by Kaido, it appears that Scratchmen Apoo and Basil Hawkins became subordinates of the Yonko. Is it possible that Apoo and Hawkins plan to side with Kaido temporarily, and wait for Luffy and form an alliance with the Straw Hats to beat Kaido? This would explain why Hawkins doesn’t want the arrival of the Straw Hats to be reported to Kaido. What do you think?
