It’s been a few chapters since we found out Big Mom lost her memories, and as of now it seems that she indeed has amnesia.
No more Brulee or fake Big Mom theories because it’s quite clear from the latest chapter that it’s the real Big Mom. So where do we go from here?
I think Oda having Chopper be the one to find Big Mom is the one person on the crew that could potentially nullify Big Mom as a future threat even after she regains her memories.
Chopper is the doctor on the crew, and most of all, he has no ill intentions and would not lie to Big Mom even if it’s for his own benefit. Therefore, after Big Mom regains her memories, she will not be enraged that she has been lied to, and will probably be grateful towards Choppers and the rest of the Straw Hats.
Imagine if it was Luffy finding Big Mom, he would probably start a fight immediately with her. The same goes for Zoro, Sanji and possibly even Franky and Brook. If it was Robin, she most likely would have left Big Mom alone and avoid complications. Usopp would most likely lie to Big Mom, making her believe she is a part of the Straw Hats or his underling, and when Big Mom eventually regains her memories, she will be even more angry with the Straw Hats. Nami would probably deceive Big Mom as well, and to add on the fact that she has Zeus might trigger Big Mom’s memories immediately.
In conclusion, I think Oda’s intention is to neutralize Big Mom as a future threat completely by having Chopper being the one to find her.
