Jolly Roger of a crew in One Piece depicts the characteristics/ personality/ beahviour/ unusual & special power/ appearance etc.. of the captain of the crew as we have skull wearing straw hat which represents Luffy.
So what does the Jolly Roger of Blackbeard’s crew represent about Marshall D. Teach? There has been many theories regarding that Jolly Roger of Blackbeard’s crew showing that Blackbeard has a cerebrus zoan so he has 3 heads or he will be possessing 3 devil fruits at the end of the series.
But i think that the 3 skulls in the Jolly Roger shows the three different personalities of Blackbeard.
These personalities according to me are:
This personality we first saw in Mock Town when he met Luffy for the first time.
He shares several attributes with Luffy, including having a voracious appetite, carefree attitude, competitive and reckless nature, persevering no matter what happens, and huge ambitions to follow his dream. He seems to be similar to Luffy in various aspects.He mocks his opponents in the middle of fight & even goes on to challenge some worthy opponents like seen in War of Marineford where he challenged Sengoku & Garp to stop him from sinking the Marineford.
Blackbeard, like others who carry the Will of D., has a strong belief in fate and the dreams of men.
He is ambitious & wants to become the Pirate King too.

2.Second personality:
This personality shows how evil & power hungry Blackbeard is. He seems very intelligent in carrying out evil plans & implementing them succesfully. He remained in the shadows of Whitebeard and was carrying out his plan to get the so proclaimed strongest devil fruit “Yami Yami no Mi”. It tooks many years for him to get that fruit….but he never lost his hope, showing how strong his conviction is to his plan.
He murdered his nakama to get that fruit. And further to that he captured his own commander Ace and was main reason for his death.
His evil mind made him even fool the Marines & World Government by using his rank of Shichibukai to complete his plan of freeing fierce level 6 prisoners from Impel Down and make them join his crew.
He’s certainly one of the sharpest minded people in One Piece.

3.Third personality:
This personality is the one which makes Blackbeard fear death and act cowardly.
As seen various times, Blackbeard has acted cowardly. And whenever Blackbeard takes a hit which is sure hurting due to his devil fruit but he overreacts as noted in fight against Ace & Luffy where he certainly overreacts as highlighted by his crew members as well.
Though being a wielder of D., Blackbeard fears death which is unlikely for a D. As seen all other D’s have died with a smile but Blackbeard feared death against Whitebeard. Just before his death, Whitebeard noted that Teach was not the one Roger had been waiting for and dismissed Teach as being incapable of continuing Roger’s legacy.
Shanks’ scar
As we know that Shanks recieved scar from Blackbeard in the past which was probably caused by Blackbeard’s claw; it shows 3 slashes but Blackbeard’s weapon has 4 claws. I think the 3 slashes here shows the importance of number 3 for Blackbeard which Oda wants to depict .
I mean the way Shanks says in the below panel how that “scar aches” means that Shanks was deceived by the 3 personalities of Blackbeard thus making him consider Blackbeard as the greatest threat in future.
Now the major reason that makes me think that the Jolly Roger of Blackbeard shows multiple personalities is a hindu demon/deity called Ravana.
He was said to have 10 heads ,with each head representing a characteristic or a behaviour of his. I think ODA has designed Blackbeard inspired from him.
