Up until the release of Chapter 1084 I have wondered about the relationship between Luffy, Vivi, Blackbeard, and Shirahoshi in the chapter where Imu was holding the 4 photos of all of them.
Until recently none of them had one particular similarity that related to all of them. That changed with the release of Chapter 1084
Shirahoshi: Also known as Poseidon, the Ancient Weapon. She is widely shown as a reincarnation of the previous Poseidon from the Void Century also known as inheriting the previous Poseidon’s will.
Luffy: Chapter 1044 showed that Luffy inherited the will of Joy Boy also known as being his reincarnation.
Blackbeard: Although this one isn’t confirmed, I now believe it to be true as this would connect all four of these characters. Blackbeard has many connections to Rocks so it would make sense that Blackbeard inherited Rocks’s will or is a reincarnation of Rocks himself. Rocks could also have the same connection to Blackbeard as Roger has to Luffy in a pathway of inherited wills (Joy Boy -> Roger -> Luffy and Unkown Character -> Rocks -> Blackbeard)
Vivi: Finally through the release of Chapter 1084 these four characters are connected as Vivi is shown to be a descendent of Lili (who im seems to know and by the Gorosei’s conversation with Cobra she was an important figure during the Void Century). I believe Vivi inherited the will of Lili which connects all of these four characters by showing that they have all inherited the will of an important figure from the Void Century.
