In the latest chapter Queen shows how cruel and careless he is towards his subordinates by letting them be infected by his Ice Oni virus without having given them any semblance of warning or cure to immune them.
I have a feeling that Queen has singlehandedly lost the entire battle by giving that “antidote” to Scratchmen Apoo and making everyone chase him. That’s probably not even a real cure and this action will clearly turn Apoo onto the side of the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance against the Beasts Pirates.
How Queen loses the battle is due to the Numbers. Apoo has been shown interacting with the Numbers a lot and he seems to be the only person they actually listen to. This is most likely due to his devil fruit powers, with his music being able to soothe the dangerous beasts and make them suggestible, kind of like a snake charmer.
Apoo will eventually get fed up with Queen’s bullshit and have the Numbers directly focus their attacks on Kaido’s forces.
The Numbers can be easily defeated by anyone near or above Tobiroppo-level, but they can massacre the lesser mooks that keep distracting everyone from focusing on the powerful threats, allowing the samurai forces to eventually overcome the Beasts Pirates.
