Colon’s Father is very likely Shiki.
Shikis unique animals from the movie strong world were on the island. A guy with an outfit and hair strongly resembling shikis own is walking across the island and is human size.
We saw this figure meet Crocus in a cover page and on closer inspection they look even more like Shiki than the silouhette in Elbaf.
Colon also highlighted that his father is extremely brave and didn’t fear the Giant warriors at all. Shiki’s epithet is one that reflects his bravery and strength. Golden Lion. Lions being a symbol of courage and strength.
Shiki has an in story canon reason to be wearing a hat. He got a wheel stuck in his head and wants to hide it in embarrassment.
I hear people say Gaban but this doesn’t actually make much sense at all. Every arc with a new mystery figure people say it’s Gaban. The guy in the prison of Kaido was also believed to be Gaban.
These theories are just fanfic atp rather than making sense
Neither Gaban or Shiki wear hats. So if either of them met Crocus he is gonna bring up why either is wearing the hat. Shiki actually has a prominent relevant narrative reason while Gaban doesn’t.
After he got swept away from the storm where he tried to engage Roger and his crew he got the wheel stuck in his head.
Shiki was also at God Valley. He has ties to Big Mom and Kaido through the Rocks Pirates, Stussy aswell and was there fighting the Holy Knights and Saturn with Rocks.
The new enemies of the island are Holy Knights. And one looks like Shanks and is being portrayed as a contrast to the real Shanks. Meaning he is gonna have a bad relationship and interaction with Colon. If he learns that Colon is the Son of the Golden Lion, someone who put fear into the Holy Knights with his strength, ferocity. They would spare Colon.
In contrast Gaban aided the Holy Knights alongside his Captain Roger and Garp. It would be extremely inconsistent if Gaban randomly started trying to fight Holy Knights. So when they attacked your family you fight against them but if they aren’t hurting killing you and enslaving you personally. You will not only turn a blind eye but also engage to help them.
If the Holy Knights attacked Colon and learnt he was the son of Shiki. They would be extreme scared and be detered in killing him.
I can imagine a scene where just as the Holy Knights are about to kill him(Colon) they learn that he is the son of Shiki. And merely the name of his father and learning he is on the island makes them leave.
And all the kids start hyping Colon saying his father is amazing.
“Colon your dad’s amazing, just hearing the name of your dad made those meanies leave!!”
And Collon would gain more respect for his dad.
Shiki also has ties to Big Mom through Rocks Pirates who is also heavily involved in this arc tied to Gerd, Jarul, Hajrudin etc.
It would also be extremely weird if Shanks casually met Gaban on the island and didn’t drink with the man in the bar with his son. Like make it make sense.
Gaban is on the damn island and his son is also there. And he doesn’t drink with Shanks and his son together.
It’s implied that the man walking around is the human man who is Ripley’s husband. She said her husband wanted to keep the relationship informal because of the age difference. Sounds Shiki like.
Straw Hats and Shiki can fight Holy Knights or deter them from coming.
