Does Kaido’s body change size while he is in his base form?

In chapter 971 Kaido looked really small compared to what he was portrayed in the past.

I don’t know how tall Orochi is, but I didn’t ever think he was this close to Kaido.

Maybe when Kaido is going to fight his body gets bigger and when he is calmer he shrinks a little bit. This also was twenty years ago so maybe Kaido just grew more.
