Edward Weevil is Whitebeard’s Failed Clone!

In Chapter 1072 Stussy is revealed to be a MADS-developed clone of former Rocks Pirates’ member, Miss Buckingham Stussy. Stussy is the first ever successful clone developed by MADS.

Currently the real Miss Buckingham is 76 years old. She is the mother of former Shichibukai Edward Weevil, and self-proclaimed lover of Whitebeard. It’s not confirmed but it’s almost definitely the case. Their names are バッキンガム・ステューシー (Bakkingamu Sutyuushii) and バッキン (Bakkin), or written in English, Buckingham Stussy and Buckin respectively. Both are specifically introduced as Ms./Miss as well.

Combine that with the original Stussy being a former Rocks and Buckin confirmed to have been part of the same crew as Whitebeard, Stussy being involved with cloning and Weevil, Buckin’s son, being suspected of being involved with cloning and it’s hard to say they’re not.

Weevil as a clone, taken from Whitebeard’s DNA (perhaps they’d have gotten it whenever they got Bakkin’s) would be nice. I’d much prefer that over Whitebeard having kids that he ditches for no reason.

Both Weevil and Stussy being developed soon after God Valley could explain how Weevil is 35 yet Stussy was the first successful clone. As for Stussy’s age, her developing quickly to adulthood like Judge’s clones then operating in the Underworld and such for decades could explain why people know her as pretty old (it’d seemingly put her in her 50’s or so which would fit in with how her age is talked about).

Weevil being a prior unsuccessful clone and Bakkin taking him and influencing him heavily till he believes he’s the rightful heir to Whitebeard’s “fortune” (that doesn’t even exist) would be appropriate.

I’m glad Oda may go the route of not having Whitebeard be a deadbeat dad. It always seemed at odds with his portrayal of just wanting a family first and foremost. Him bailing on his biological son just didn’t sem to fit.

I’m not sure of how rock-solid this reasoning is but ultimately I’m just really hoping Oda goes this route, a lot of potential to give focus to the clones whilst not messing with too many already established characters. Weevil’s been a known character for quite some time and him being a clone is probably way less detrimental to people’s perception of Whitbeard or Oda’s usage of the character than if Newgate just bailed on a woman pregnant with his child. Hopefully if Marco and Weevil encounter each other, we get confirmation from Whitebeard on whether it’s possible Weevil’s his which I doubt.
