Chapter 906 got me thinking. In Mary Geoise, a lone figure known as Im carrying Luffy’s new wanted poster opens the door to a freezing vault.
Stepping inside, the vault is revealed to contain a single object: a massive straw hat the size of the figure.
This huge frozen place looks like a tomb. At least that’s what the last panel is suggesting to me.
Given that devil fruits always respawn after the death of a person, could you keep a devil fruit locked away if you freeze the owner alive? Of course just locking the fruit away would be a lot easier, but we don’t know the rules of devil fruits’ respawning yet (According to Oda, a “certain professor” will explain the complex mechanisms behind all of the Devil Fruits in the series in the future).
So keeping the owner frozen somwhere no one could find them seems like a practical way to lock their devil fruits away. What do you think?
