Imu and the Celestial Dragons will be taken down BEFORE the Final War

Seems like a lot of fans think the the recent chapters confirms Imu and Gorosei as the final villains. However, it’s actually quite the opposite. These chapters imply that the Celestial Dragons will be taken out very soon, and before the final war.

A big reason why people think Imu is the final villain is due to this panel, where Whitebeard implies that the final war will commence once someone finds the One Piece and challenges the world.

This is true, the final war will begin after the One Piece is found. However, the misconception is that imu and the Gorosei will be involved in the final war.

The Revolutionaries have declared war against the Celestial Dragons, and the Holy Knights are set to mobilise soon. But wasn’t the “final war” meant to be started by Luffy after he finds the One Piece? So what does this mean? It means that this war against the Celestial Dragons is NOT the final war. This war started by the Revolutionaries and the final war are two separate events. The final war isn’t just Luffy butting into a battle that the Revolutionaries started. Whitebeard didn’t say “one day the Revolutionaries will declare war on the Celestial Dragons and then Luffy will join in and beat Imu”. The final war is the war that will be declared by Luffy, after finding the One Piece.

“But the Celestial Dragons are the true evil of One Piece because they oppose freedom and One Piece is all about freedom and Luffy wants everyone to be free so that means imu is the final villain!” Another misconception is that Luffy’s dream is for everyone to be free. That is not Luffy’s dream, that is Sabo’s dream.

So what is Luffy’s dream then? We don’t know, but it’s obviously not going to just be the same as Sabo’s, otherwise there would be no need for oda to be secretive about it. And there is no “true evil” or “main evil” in One Piece. In fact it’s going against Oda’s intentions to think like that. One Piece has been all about showing us that evil can be found in all types of people and that you can’t generalise a whole group to be fully good or another group to be fully evil. Pirates can be evil, marines can be evil, fishman can be evil, humans can be evil, celestial dragons can be evil ect… This is not a case of all evil existing solely due to the celestial dragons.

If the Celestial Dragons were the “main evil” of One Piece, then Oda would have made Luffy a Revolutionary. Why would Oda make the main character a pirate who goes around fighting these “insignificant side villain pirates and marines” when the “main villains” are just government dudes. So Sabo and the Revolutionaries (side characters) have been following the main campaign questline while Luffy (the main character) has been doing side quests the whole time? It’s completely backwards logic. The Celestial Dragons are not the main villains and Luffy’s dream is NOT to make everyone free. That is not what this story is about, and that is not why Luffy set out on his journey. Luffy set sail to become Pirate King and become the most free man on the seas, not to liberate everyone from oppression. Do not confuse luffy’s dream with Sabo’s.

And Sabo will be successful in his dream. Sabo is not in the story to fail or die to create some emotional drama. Ace’s death already fulfils that purpose. Sabo and Luffy both carry the will of Ace and both will be successful in their goals. Luffy is the main character, that means that Sabo will achieve his goal before Luffy achieves his own.

Imu and the Celestial Dragons will be taken down first. After that is when things really kick into gear for the endgame. The Celestial Dragons being dethroned doesn’t mean the world becomes peaceful. With the government rulers gone, chaos will ensue. The hustle for the One Piece now becomes even more intense and Blackbeard will try and become king of the world. Akainu will now have no restraints in how he leads the marines and will retaliate against pirates with relentless force in the name of justice. It will be up to Luffy to stop these two.
