King, Queen and Sasaki confirm one crucial thing about Devil Fruits!

What do King, Queen and Sasaki all have in common? They are all ancient Zoan users that have an insane ability completely unrelated to their animal’s biology: King’s slingshot head, Queen’s snake form, Sasaki’s helicopter neck.

Based on these characters’ comments, they also seem convinced that their zoan abilities are historically accurate.

So what does this tell us about Devil Fruits? Why would they be so strangely inaccurate, and why is it seemingly only Ancient Zoans that share this trait? The reason is… human error.

I suspect that with these bizarre features, Oda is heavily implying that Devil Fruits are man made. The Ancient Zoans are potentially inaccurate because the creator of the Devil Fruits did not have access to the actual animal. Instead, they had to base the fruit on the fossils of animals that were already extinct. The shape of the pteranadon’s skull led them to believe it could be used as a weapon, just as the length of the brachiosaurus’s neck and tail led them to believe it was some kind of snake.

Essentially, the fact that the animals were extinct meant assumptions had to be made, and human error led to an inaccurate fruit being created. In my opinion this is Oda’s way of hinting that Devil Fruits are indeed man made.

So, what do you think?
