Luffy & Zoro’s Timeskip Training vs Kid & Killer’s Training

This post is mainly analyzing the differences between Luffy and Zoro’s timeskips vs. the rest of the Supernovas, mainly Kid and Killer.

I keep seeing people say that if Kid ends up being as strong as Luffy then “it would make Luffy’s training pointless.” They basically say that if Kid is able to just go into the New World without training and end up as strong as Luffy then what was the point of Luffy’s training with Rayleigh?

So first I would like to talk about what the rest of the Supernovas were doing over timeskip because many people seem to think that they were just sitting and twiddling their thumbs for 2 years while Luffy and Zoro were training.

Kid and Killer went straight from Saboady to New World and instantly started challenging people like the Red Hair Pirates and Sweet Commanders.

We know that Haki blooms in tough battles and we know for a fact that guys like Kid have been constantly having tough battles against Yonko crews for the last 2 years. Oda gave emphasis to this by making Kid and Killer become noticeably more buff and having many scars after timeskip.

It shows you that those two have not been messing around in the New World. To me it would make complete sense if they ended up being able to rival Luffy and Zoro in strength even after the 2 year timeskip. Does that make Luffy and Zoro’s training useless? Of course not.

People seem to have a misconception on what the point of the 2 year timeskip was. The point of the training was so that they could prepared before going into the New World so they would not suffer losses like what happened on Saboady, not to outclass their rivals.
