We all know Mihawk has very vampireish vibes, so where could these connect, well, Mihawk’s sword is where this connects. We all know that his sword is very special, being a big sword, a black blade, and one of the rarest and highest quality swords, and we know that he only usws it on people he finds too dangerous or worthy, to finish them off or/and give them a “good ending“. Well, what if Mihawk‘s sword is cursed but only for him, and it curses/sucks the blood out of people, which is why he didn’t use it against Shanks, because if it cuts someone once, they get poisoned, and their blood gets sucked out of them, (kind of like akame’s sword from Akame ga kill, except more long term). Mihawk wasn’t scared of Shanks, he didn’t want to kill him, that’s why he let Vista fight him, since he knew that he could predict Vista’s attacks to not kill him. This is also why he fought Zoro with the knife, it might’ve been a bit because he was weak, but because he didn’t see anything in him, after the fight Mihawk was done, he DIDN’T want to use Yoru against Zoro, but Zoro begged and begged for it, which started Zoro’s path to death.
Now, what if Mihawk, before like 20 or so years ago, Mihawk found the sword, or it was given to him, possibly by someone in wano maybe even a Ryuma ghost or even, a relative of Zoro, passing the curse on, which is what Mihawk will do to Zoro, and since Zoro was already cut, he’s already slowly dying. Now, Mihawk‘s curse, this sword is a cursed sword, one of the most cursed, and it forced Mihawk to always wear a hat unless in a dark area (such as his island), sail around in a ship with a black flag, turning him or at least his consciousness into that of a vampire.
