In Chapter 1055 we see Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Jinbe just smiling and chilling… while they await for an Admiral to approach them.
Over a decade ago the entire Straw Hats were at the mercy of one Admiral in several occasions.
Luffy was then broken in spirit once he realized how big the gap was between himself and the top dogs of the world after Marineford.
Now he’s finally there. That seemingly impossible gap has now been closed. Loved seeing this panel, they all looked so damn comfortable with the prospect of clashing with an Admiral.
What was once a nightmare is now a bump in the road that can be feasibly traversed. Luffy has come a long way and he’s aware of where he sits in the world now. He has paved way for his own throne, and now he’s sitting on it with pride. No single Admiral is going to come challenge Luffy’s place in the world and come out unscatched, not anymore.
