As many sources claim, according to the onepiece-film.jp domain, ONE PIECE FILM RED will be the next movie of the series and will be released on August 6th, 2022. This information was taken from a note written by Eiichiro Oda which was leaked so we still await official announcements.
The movie will be directed by Goro Taniguchi and the script will be written by Kuroiwa Tsutomu. Meanwhile, Eiichiro Oda will supervise the work in his own presence.
A logo was also released for the film and looking at the logo it seems like the ONE PIECE FILM RED will be about Shanks.
Many fans infact noticed three scar marks on the letter “D”, hinting that the movie could be about the legendary Red-Haired Shanks.
Here’s Oda’s statement about the upcoming movie:
“We are making a movie!! RED!! I’m tired of drawing legendary geezers in movies! So give me a break lol! That’s how it started, and we arrived at the character for this movie. Did you know that Mr. Goro Taniguchi despite being distant from One Piece is the first person to ever animate Luffy?
We’ve got many surprises in store for you! So please, look forward to The New “RED” and let your imagination run free!”
