One Piece Film: Red is the upcoming 15th One Piece movie, set to be released on August 6, 2022. The film was first announced in the November 21, 2021 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump in commemoration of Episode 1000’s release.
The movie will be directed by Goro Taniguchi and the script will be written by Kuroiwa Tsutomu. Meanwhile, Eiichiro Oda will supervise the work in his own presence.
Here’s Oda’s statement about the upcoming movie:
As revealed by the first teaser trailer, the plot will involve Shanks, whose signature scar can be seen on the “D” in the film’s title logo.
Additionally, a new female character will be in the film, which Oda noted to be a departure from the older male characters that starred as the villains in four of the last five films. The teaser poster appears to depict a woman, who appears to be a sky island resident.
