So to start, this was an incredible chapter… It ended a 10 year+ argument, and provided loads of revelations, some of which were very subtle. Lets get into it.
So we got confirmation that it was in fact the Red Line that Marco was talking about last chapter. Most importantly though, the theory that King is of the same race as Sun God Nika just got some serious credence. I saw this go over a lot of reviewers heads, instead bringing up comparisons to Enel, the other “god” we know of. Based on King being the last of his race, having the fire on his head like Sun God Nika, and with Nika’s recent introduction, I think it makes the most sense. Especially with all these references to the moon thus far, and people of this race being known as “Lunarians”. With Marco then going onto say “how could you believe such crap pops”, and Big Mom being aware of Skypeia, makes me think it’s something more historical than the existence of Sky People like Enel and Urouge. Whitebeard knew about the Void Century from Roger as well, which supports this idea.
While not quite being a revelation, I love the room for speculation this opened up. Your guess is good as mine, but I feel it’s interesting Sanji seemingly infers its not going to slow him down, and that he just feels “odd”.
If I had to take a guess in the dark, I wonder if Sanji’s genetic modifications from Judge are finally starting to kick in? The fact the following is stated after, adds to this idea.
So King’s sword is revealed to be special for some reason.
