The origin of the name of God Valley Island
Until the latest chapter, everyone assumed that the name of God Valley had something to do with Celestial Dragons. Hovewer, chapter 1095 disproves this because this was a country not associated with the World Government. So I have a theory about what this island might be named after.
In the one-shot Monsters that Oda had written in 1994, swordsman Ryuma slays a dragon, and it’s also considered canon in One Piece. This clearly happens not in Wano, but in a Western-style town. The place where this happens is also implied to be mountanous (7 years ago the dragon destroyed a nearby town in the mountains).
Now, let’s look at God Valley as it’s portrayed in Chapter 1095. It has Western-style buildings, is rich and has a giant mountain. Additionally, the mountain in the middle looks like it was split in two with a giant sword slash.
So, I believe that the God Valley might be named after Ryuma, as shortened version of ‘Sword God’s Valley’, because this was the place where he had slain the dragon.
The Monsters one-shot is also announced to be animated soon, and it might not be a coincidence that it happens only after we will get the God Valley flashback.
