The real reason why Kuma voluntarily became a cyborg

I don’t know if anyone has thought of this but here is my theory: in order to cure Bonney, Kuma visited and talked to Vegapunk. After discussions, they came to the conclusion that Kuma could push out the illness that Bonney has, but if he tried to take it on, he wouldn’t be able to handle it and it would kill him and return to Bonney.

Kuma asked Vegapunk to make him able to withstand the pain, and the solution Vegapunk presented him with was turning Kuma into a Cyborg/Robot. Kuma would do anything to save Bonney so he said yes. During the process, there was an issue and in order to not lose Kuma completely, Vegapunk got him to push out his own memories, promising to never show them to Bonney as her finding out the truth as to why he is a robot would break her.

After the transformation, he was able to remove the illness from Bonney, but also removed her memory of that happening, so she doesn’t know how she was cured or why her Father was a robot now.

The World Government found out about this, and told Vegapunk they would allow Bonney to live if they got to use Kuma as a weapon and a Warlord.
