#10 – FISHER TIGER
Fisher Tiger was the founder and original captain of the Sun Pirates. He was very idealistic, making the principles of liberation and freedom the basics of the Sun Pirates.
Jinbe enlisted in the Neptune Army until the rebellion of his mentor Fisher Tiger take him to join the Sun Pirtaes. At first violent and hateful towards humans, Jinbe learned to accept humans in his yourney as a pirate. After the death of Fisher Tiger, Jinbe took over as the captain of the crew.
#9 – KOSHIRO
Koshiro is Roronoa Zoro’s teacher and Kuina’s father. Zoro is grateful to Koshiro for teaching him the sword and giving him the Meito Wadō Ichimonji. Although he didn’t understand it at the time, Koshiro taught Zoro that there is much more to being a swordsman than the ability to cut through anything. A sword that can simply harm anything isn’t a real sword, and there is no sword mightier than the one that protects what it wants to protect.
#8 – ZEFF
Zeff is the head chef and owner of Baratie, former captain of the Cook Pirates, and was also Sanji’s cooking mentor and father figure.
While Zeff was always harshly critical towards Sanji, he did this to make Sanji into the great chef and tough fighter he is now. Zeff also seems to be responsible for Sanji’s strict code of never using any form of violence against women, threatening to beat up Sanji or even castrate him if he ever forgets this. Zeff mostly raised Sanji to be his son, as he believed it was his duty as “Sanji’s parent” to instill knowledge in him, including helping him develop his cooking skills and teaching him the value of a cook’s hands. Sanji’s signature fighting style was developed as a result of this teaching, which included Zeff beating him up whenever he threatened his hands in combat.
#7 – HILULUK
Hiluluk was Chopper’s mentor who took him in and became his “father”. They had a close relationship with each other, and had formed a deep bond despite their almost constant arguing with each other and Chopper had a hard time when he was informed of the disease Hiluluk is suffering from. The two slowly formed a sort of father/son relationship, traveling (and in a way terrorizing) the island trying to cure patients and generally resulting in them having to literally run for their lives from angry patients or their associates. Despite his time spent with the superior Doctor Kureha, Chopper refers to Hiluluk as “the greatest doctor in the world.”
#6 – PEDRO
Pedro of the Treetops is a jaguar mink and captain of the Guardians. In the past, he was the one who gave to Carrot gauntlets after he witnessed her lack of talent for swordsmanship. He then repeated the words Gol D. Roger told him in his youth to encourage her to became stronger.
When Pedro planned to sacrifice himself for the escape of the Sanji Retrieval Team, he warned Carrot beforehand, expressing his desire for their survival.
#5 – EMPORIO IVANKOV
Emporio Ivankov is the “Queen” of the Kamabakka Kingdom and is one of the commanders of the Revolutionary Army.
Sanji developed a friendly (of sorts) relationship with the entire populace of Kamabakka Kingdom after being sent there against his will by Bartholomew Kuma. Ironically, this bond initially started out as “hell” for Sanji, but later improved overtime as he assimilated (to his chagrin) with their lifestyle. This relationship further bettered upon meeting their then-newly freed leader, Emporio Ivankov.
By the end of the two year timeskip, it has been shown that Sanji has already won the 99 recipes of Kamabakka Kingdom’s Attack Cuisine as prizes for managing to defeat the Okama Kenpo masters on Momoiro.
#4 – MONKEY D. GARP
Monkey D. Garp is a Marine vice admiral. He is the father of Monkey D. Dragon and the paternal grandfather of Monkey D. Luffy.
Garp is the mentor/instructor of Coby and Helmeppo; he keeps them out of trouble and ensures that they are not slacking off. If they do get out of hand, he knocks them around to ensure they know their place. Coby admires Garp, even though he maintains a highly brutal clutch on him because he would not be where he is without him.
#3 – DRACULE MIHAWK
Having lost one rival in Shanks, Mihawk now shares a rivalry with Zoro, and is prepared to wait as long as it takes for Zoro to become strong enough to beat him. To this end, Mihawk watches Zoro’s progression and is delighted when Zoro gains his first bounty.
After the Battle of Marineford, Zoro is willing to put aside his pride and begged Mihawk to train him in order to become stronger for his crew. Mihawk tells Zoro to go, because he believes that such an idea is foolish and he assumes that Zoro is simply incapable of defeating the baboons. However, Zoro had already defeated the baboons, and wanted Mihawk to train him so that he may one day defeat Mihawk himself. He notices that Zoro is putting his pride aside all for the sake of his captain. Mihawk gives in and tells Perona to heal Zoro so they can begin his training, which takes place during the next two years.
During the Dressrosa Arc, it is revealed that Mihawk taught Zoro how to imbue his swords with Haki.
#2 – MONKEY D. DRAGON
Monkey D. Dragon, commonly known as “Dragon the Revolutionary”, is the father of Monkey D. Luffy and the son of Monkey D. Garp.
After joining the Revolutionary Army, Sabo was personally trained by Dragon and attained tremendous physical prowess by adulthood.
So Dragon enabled him to rise through the ranks until he became the Revolutionary Army’s chief of staff.
Sabo refers to Dragon as “Dragon-san” and is loyal to him and is trusted enough to lead the Revolutionary Army’s investigation of Donquixote Family’s weapons trade. Even after regaining his memories, Sabo did not leave the revolutionaries to resume his dream of being a free-sailing pirate, showing a firm conviction to Dragon’s cause.
#1 – SILVERS RAYLEIGH
Rayleigh mentored Luffy on how to master all three different forms of Haki. Luffy strongly respected Rayleigh as a teacher as he was even willing to endure hunger as punishment.
Before training under Rayleigh, Luffy displayed limited to no control over his Haoshoku Haki, and did not seem to realize he had it, but used it on instinct whenever it seemed to be most needed, and could still use it even when extremely injured. With this training, Luffy has demonstrated the ability to focus his Haoshoku Haki. The true extent of Luffy’s Haki is seen when he knocks out 50,000 of Hody Jones’ men.
Since training with Silvers Rayleigh, Luffy have gained incredible proficiency in Kenbunshoku Haki, allowing him to tell what an opponent intends to do. After pushing his Kenbunshoku Haki to its peak during his fight against Katakuri, Luffy gained the ability to see into the future to a limited extent.
