#5 – EDD WAR
Twenty seven years ago, two years before Gol D. Roger and his crew reached Raftel, Shiki had learned that the Pirate King had located an ancient weapon. Seeing the opportunity, he asked Roger if they could join forces. With his large pirate fleet and Roger’s weapon, Shiki believed that together they could take over the whole world and asked Roger to become his right hand. Roger however refused Shiki’s offer saying that there was no point in being a pirate if he could not do as he wished.
A great sea battle soon ensued between their crews at Edd War. Due to a storm that happened during their fight, Shiki unfortunately lost and half of his fleet sunk.
#4 – SUMMIT WAR OF MARINEFORD
The Battle of Marineford took place on the island of Marineford and the end results were that the Whitebeard Pirates failed to save Ace from death and lost their captain Edward “Whitebeard” Newgate, along with many other comrades.
This was the biggest gathering of Devil Fruit users so far in the series; with Akainu, Aokiji, Bartholomew Kuma, Blamenco, Boa Hancock, Buggy, Crocodile, Dalmatian, Daz Bones, Donquixote Doflamingo, Edward Newgate, Emporio Ivankov, Epoida, Galdino, Gecko Moria, Hina, Inazuma, Jozu , Kizaru, Laffitte, Marco, Marshall D. Teach, Monkey D. Luffy, Onigumo, Portgas D. Ace, Sengoku, Smoker, Trafalgar Law, and Tsuru, as well as several unidentified Devil Fruit users, taking part, a total of at least twenty-seven people. Except for Enel, every canon Logia user created by Oda was present during the battle.
#3 – GOD VALLEY INCIDENT
The God Valley Incident took place at an island known as God Valley, 38 years before present time. It consisted of a battle between the Rocks Pirates and a joint effort of the Roger Pirates and the Marines.
The Rocks Pirates were a legendary pirate crew led by Rocks D. Xebec and considered to be the most powerful pirate crew of their time. The crew consisted of extremely powerful people such as Whitebeard, Big Mom, Shiki The Lion, Big Mom and Captain John.
For unknown reasons, the world nobles and some of their slaves were present at God Valley during this incident. In order to protect them from Rocks D. Xebec and his crew, current Marine vice-admiral Monkey D. Garp had to form a temporary alliance with Gol D. Roger, captain of the Roger Pirates.
The Rocks Pirates were eventually defeated by the Pirate-Marine alliance, leading to Rocks’ death and the crew’s disbandment.
#2 – THE GREAT WAR DURING THE VOID CENTURY
The Void Century is a century-long gap in recorded and archaeological history, the study of which is forbidden by the World Government. These events occurred 900 to 800 years before the current storyline.
The most important event during the Void Century has to be the Great War. It ended around 722 with the fall of Shandora.
At the end of the Void Century, the 20 kingdoms came together to defeat the Ancient Kingdom and then founded what is now known as the World Government. The founding members pledged the equality between their kingdoms in front of the Empty Throne, with each kingdom leaving a weapon of their own next to the throne in order to symbolize its protection.
#1 – WANO ARC WAR
Twenty years ago, the Beasts Pirates began occupying Wano Country. After Wano’s shogun, Kurozumi Orochi, executed the daimyo of Kuri, Kozuki Oden, the Beasts Pirates burned down Oden Castle, but Oden’s wife sent Momonosuke, Kin’emon, Kanjuro, Raizo, and Kiku 20 years into the future.
In the current storyline, the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance sets their plan to liberate Wano from the control of Kurozumi Orochi and Kaido. Meanwhile, the Big Mom Pirates also head to Wano to get revenge on the Straw Hats for the previous events back on Totto Land.
On Onigashima, Kaido and Big Mom have formed an alliance to conquer the world and they plan to resume their fight afterwards.
Kaido is planning something huge and we know what that thing is. War! But he’s not going to start just any war. He wants his war to be on such grandiose scale that it would be the greatest war the world has ever seen.
According to Oda, the War at Wano Country will be so huge that even Marineford will look “cute” compared to it!
