A cyborg is a human or other life form that has been modified with machinery and metal for better functioning. These mechanical enhancements can include cybernetic replacements for missing organs or body parts, metal skin for extra protection, and weapons installed somewhere in the body.
In the series, cyborgs are rare, as the technology required for their creation is somewhat advanced. Here are the 5 strongest cyborgs in the whole series:
PACIFISTA
The Pacifista are human weapons developed by Marine head scientist, Dr. Vegapunk. They are cyborgs built in the mold of the Shichibukai Bartholomew Kuma, who was the cyborg prototype for the project.
The Pacifista’s main mode of combat is firing laser beams from their mouth and hands which are based on Kizaru’s light-based Devil Fruit. These beams are capable of causing massive explosions and piercing powers, causing tremendous damage to targets and the environment. Pacifista can also run slightly faster than most people and jump quite high, despite their size, although they are still slower than Kuma himself.
As cyborgs, the Pacifista are capable of taking staggering amounts of damage without being disabled.
Sentomaru noted that after the timeskip period, PX-5 and PX-7 were outdated models from two years ago, meaning that the Pacifista project has been updated and modified.
FRANKY
Due to the bionic modifications done to his body, Franky has incredible superhuman strength and durability.
In addition to his strength, Franky also displays considerable skill on whatever item he lays his hands upon, be it in or out of combat. Even without his cyborg functions and arsenal of weaponry, Franky is a highly skilled boxer which he combined with his cybernetically enhanced physical strength to defeat highly skilled and dangerously powerful assassins with very fast and powerful punches.
After the timeskip, Franky has incredibly modified his body and became much larger and physically more powerful and optimal in appearance and function, respectively. The state of the art technology designed by Dr. Vegapunk, with nearly all of the futuristic and technological aspects of the Marines and the world as a whole (i.e. the Pacifista project and the assimilation of Devil Fruits into weapons) have been incorporated into Franky’s upgraded bionic modification.
EUSTASS KID
Eustass Kid is the captain of the Kid Pirates.
Kid possesses a Devil Fruit power connected to magnetism. This manifests in two different abilities, both depicting repulsion and attraction of metals within his vicinity to be used as weapons. The first allows him to repel metallic objects away from himself, such as reflecting a Marine cannonball back towards its shooter. The second ability allows him to draw metallic objects towards him and form them into objects, his most frequent use of this being to form a giant arm made of hundreds of metallic weapons and objects and connecting it to his right hand.
Sometime during the timeskip his left arm was replaced with a mechanical one, making him a partial cyborg, however whatever capabilities that his new arm now grant him are currently unknown. But he may be able to combine his Devil Fruit abilities with his mechanical arm.
BARTHOLOMEW KUMA
Prior to his final Pacifista modifications, Kuma was a commander in the Revolutionary Army. He is one of the few people to have completely defeated the Straw Hat Pirates, and is also the only character introduced so far that has defeated the crew single-handedly, twice.
Kuma ate the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi, making him a “Paw Man”. A Paramecia-class Devil Fruit, it gave him paw pads on his palms which give him the power to “push” or deflect anything, including the air around him allowing him to not only defend himself from attacks but also to push objects at great speed. The fruit’s powers also allow him to move at the same speed as the objects he pushes, possibly by using it to push himself, appearing instantaneously at a desired location regardless of distance, all the while moving with no more than a slow walk.
Kuma’s abilities can also be used to create massively destructive attacks. This is displayed by one of his signature moves, “Ursus Shock”, essentially a bomb made of highly compressed air created by pushing the air between his hands. This destructive power is enough to severely cripple a massive giant, in this case Oars Jr.
Kuma is now a cyborg modified by Vegapunk. The launcher of his laser is only installed in his mouth. In the other Pacifista, the launcher is installed on their palms as well. Kuma has his paw pads instead of the laser holes on his hands.
ZEPHYR
Z, also known as “Black Arm” Zephyr, was the leader of the Neo Marines and the main antagonist of One Piece Film: Z.
Alongside Garp, Sengoku, and Tsuru, Z was one of the most powerful Marines of his generation. Despite his old age, Zephyr had tremendous physical prowess.
He mastered Busoshoku Haki at the age of 34, allowing him to coat himself with it and turn his arms black for much more devastating strikes and defenses, which earned him the nickname “Black Arm”. He could easily create a large crater on the ground with his fists.
Z had mastered the Rokushiki martial arts style at the age of 28. Though tarnished by old age, Zephyr still retained a significantly high mastery of the Rokushiki.
He had a mechanical arm named the Battle Smasher, which he used as a powerful bludgeoning weapon. The weapon was constructed by Marine scientists after Z lost his right arm and was embedded with Seastone in order to effectively combat Devil Fruit users. Inside the Battle Smasher there was a destructive cannon as well as a machine gun turret.
Z also stole the Dyna Stones, which are weapons of mass destruction. Each of them has power said to rival the Ancient Weapons in terms of mass destruction, and as the Marines’ trump card they are considered extremely valuable to them.
