One Piece has been around for over 20 years now. Most of us have read 20 years worth of chapters. Seeing the world change and progress. Seeing some characters come and go and seeing some characters grow and develop.
We’ve seen this world in its near entirety and learnt of the biggest powers in this world. The Navy. The Seven Warlords. The Emperors. We also learnt of the up-and-coming big names like Luffy, Zoro, Drake, Apoo, Kid, Law, and so on.
We’ve experienced the world and its dynamics. We’ve seen how it’s changed and who has helped to change it. We’ve seen an Emperor fall. Whitebeard, who fell at the hands of another great power, the Navy.
And yes, Luffy and the other Supernovas have probably had a hand in shaping the dynamics of the One Piece World a little but till now their influence was small compared to how the Emperors or Navy could shape the world. The actions of Ace, Sengoku, Whitebeard, Blackbeard, the Gorosei, and so on have shaped this world in a way that, till now, the Supernovas never could.
But finally, after 20 years. Finally, after so long, we see it. WE SEE THE FALL OF AN EMPEROR. NOT BY THE HANDS OF THE NAVY’S MILITARY MIGHT. NOT BY THE HANDS OF ANOTHER EMPEROR. NO. WE SEE AN EMPEROR FALL BY THE HANDS OF TWO PIRATES FROM THE NEW GENERATION THAT THE WORLD CONTINIOUSLY UNDERESTIMATED. WE SEE FOR THE FIRST TIME, THE CAPABILITY OF THE NEW GENERATION TO MAKE CHANGE IN THIS WORLD.
SOON AFTER WE SEE THE FALL OF THE EMPEROR RENOWNED AS THE STRONGEST CREATURE IN THE WORLD AT THE HANDS OF ANOTHER PIRATE OF THE WORST GENERATION. LUFFY MANAGED TO DEFEAT KAIDO ON HIS OWN!
These pirates are no longer fledglings. No. They will now lead the change in this world, and the occupants of this world can no longer take it sitting down. The Era of the four Emperors and that system is over. After Wano, truly, the world will never be the same again.
