The entire Wano Country and the entire world await the dawn of the new age, Nekomamushi, Kinemon and the rest of the Scabbards have awaited 20 years for this certain reason. They didn’t wait 20 years to just for whatever reason, Kinemon and the others did not get sent in the future for 20 years for no reason, this was all because of Luffy.
In 20 years, that’s when Luffy enters the New World, and becomes the Pirate King. Kinemon tells Kaido that even if all the samurai die, Luffy remains because he is the man that will one day be at the pinnacle of the seas. He is the dawn of the world. The entire Mink tribe also waited for Luffy for generations, and have been absent from the rest of the world for that reason.
Whitebeard tells the entire world that there will be someone carrying centuries worth of burden on his back and changing the entire world. He also tells Blackbeard that he is not the one that Roger awaits.
Luffy is the central figure of this story, and he is the one that we follow because he out of everyone that the story has introduced is the turning point to all that’s happened. The dawn of the world means the change that has to come, and to think that Luffy the man who has been awaited for all this time will just be put aside for side characters? COME ON!
Luffy will infact beat the shit out of kaido, Oda has built up this arc for years, and this will be a huge turning point for Luffy’s story. Like Oda said, this is the spark to the dawn of the world. He states in a SBS that once Luffy is victorious in Wano, it will be the start of the greatest war in One Piece history!
Luffy will win this arc, and this is the start of the biggest turning point in the story, if you do not believe all the evidence Oda has given you, and why it is crucial for Luffy to surpass Kaido this arc and defeat his first Emperor/s, and think that it makes more sense for side characters that literally don’t hold even a fraction of the significance he has in his story, then I do not know what it is left.
