Will the Celestial Dragons hold the next Native Hunting Competition in Elbaf?
In the latest chapter, we learned about the native cleansing festival that the Celestial Dragons host every three years on an unaffiliated island. We know the one at God Valley was 38 years ago, which means that a most, we’re likely no more than a year away from another one, and it’s possible that we’re really close.
There doesn’t seem to be a set order for which unaffiliated island they choose, having picked God Valley because they thought the name was blasphemous.
With the Straw Hats and Luffy specifically having now crossed a member of the Gorosei and planning on going to a likely unaffiliated island in Elbaf (I’m guessing it’s unaffiliated based on the Mother Carmel flashback and no Giants at Reverie), Elbaf could be the next destination for the cleansing festival.
If Luffy manages to escape, especially if he does so with Kuma, Bonney, and Vegapunk, he’ll almost definitely be pursued by Saturn and Marines. Saul, an Ohara survivor, being on the island is even more reason to target it.
It really seems like the perfect place for the big players to converge. Luffy, Law, Vegapunk, Kuma, Bonney. Shanks and Kid are there. Big Mom has ties to Elbaf. Buggy and thus the Cross Guild have connections with the Giants. The Revolutionaries would probably get involved. Blackbeard has his hands in everything. This could be the next Marineford scale battle.
